We are diving head first into calculating Surface Area of cubes, rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, and cylinders this week. This will lead in to calculating volume of said shapes, which we will begin next week.
This will amount to a lot of practice work to develop efficient computation. We will end the week off with using this knowledge to solve a real world problem!
Biology is here! We will begin with an analysis on life and cells of the animal and plant variety.
This will lead to a mini project to analyze functions of the different parts of cells. Look for more info on that next week. In addition, we will be looking at current events in science where each student will choose an article that interests them and formulate a presentation which will be carried out in the last week before winter break.
