We wrote a small article (2-3 paragraphs) about Canadian invention, innovation, or discovery covering the following details:
Canadian Scientific and Technological Contributions
List of additional Canadian inventions, innovations, and people:
Canadian contributions to science/technology
Our presentations for our Canadian contributions article will take place on Friday, December 15th (102) and Monday, December 18th (108).
Presentations should be 2-3 minutes long -- two or three paragraphs -- and include information regarding the 5 Ws and H surrounding the topic. They should also include the impact of the contribution (eg. how does the discovery of insulin affect people now?), a comparison to modern technology (eg. CCD sensors vs the more modern CMOS sensors), or an explanation of how the process works or what it's used for (eg. how does site-directed mutagenesis work and how is it used?).
If you have chosen a topic that is not on the list in our shared Google Doc, please add a link to the resource(s) you found!
At this point, all artifacts should be in progress (or completed). You will have approximately two more class periods to complete them, with limited time in the shop.
If you still need materials, it is your responsibility to bring them to school.
You may want to delegate work within your group and spend some time at home getting some of the work done.
Because we are setting up the museum and having other students do a gallery walk and assessment, it is not possible for you to have a time extension for this project. You must be ready to display your artifacts on Tuesday, December 19th.
Meiji TV Segment
This should be done and shared with me by now! If it's not, you need to make a plan regarding how you can finish it with your group and then come talk to me.
November Quickwrite Expansion
This is another thing that should be done! If you haven't shared it with me, please do so. If you wrote it in your writing notebook, please make sure it ends up on my desk. :)
Here are all the words we've had on our spelling tests so far:
If you haven't handed me a physical copy of your March/April quickwrite, or your second (or final) draft of your Aztec Diary Entry, you need to get it in ASAP.
Please share documents to my Google email. My username is krtempest (@ the same suffix as yours).
